    Background

Red Bug Lake Park in Casselberry (Orlando area) is a 60-acre Seminole County facility known for its diverse amenities: three softball fields, 16 tennis courts, eight racquetball courts, sand volleyball, basketball, a fishing pier, playground, boardwalk trail, and active adult/youth leagues. While popular for recreation, the park lacked sufficient modern hitting practice options to meet demand from softball leagues and youth players.

    Challenge

Space limitations and the park's multi-sport focus made traditional large batting cages impractical. The county sought a compact, versatile solution to enhance baseball/softball training without disrupting other activities.

    Solution

In 2026, three Beast Hack modular hitting stations were installed at Red Bug Lake Park. The 10' × 10' footprint per station allowed seamless integration into the existing layout, complementing the softball fields and other amenities. Features include height adjustability, fast baseball/softball switching, and swing-feedback technology for targeted practice on pitch locations and power development.

    Implementation

Permanent installation (concrete uprights) ensured stability in a high-traffic public park. Stations were placed for easy access during league practices and open play, with quick adoption by coaches and players.

    Results

    • Increased training capacity, three stations provided dedicated hitting areas without taking space from tennis, racquetball, or other facilities.
    • Reduced practice congestion and wait times, boosting participation in softball leagues and youth programs.
    • Enhanced player experience with feedback-driven training, leading to noticeable improvements in swing mechanics and confidence.
    • Aligned with the park's community-focused mission by offering inclusive, year-round skill-building tools in a scenic setting.
"The Beast Hack® stations fit perfectly into our multi-sport park and give players better access to quality practice. They've been a great addition for the Orlando-area community."
